Kuala Lumpur, 4th May 2021 - Newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dato' Sri Acryl Sani Haji Abdullah Sani acknowledged that it will be difficult to shoulder the responsibilities of the post without the cooperation of his colleagues in blue.

Speaking after the handover of duties ceremony as the nation's top cop yesterday morning at the federal police headquarters in Bukit Aman here, he said he believed that if everyone, especially department directors, and state and district police chiefs, were to help, ensuring the safety of the community would not be impossible.

"If you ask how I feel (about being appointed as IGP), honestly my answer is that it is as if a heavy burden has been placed on my shoulders.

"Alone, I believe I would not be able to shoulder this monumental responsibility because every decision I make will have consequences.

"However, I am confident that with the experienced directors, and state and district police chiefs, we can complete any unfinished task for the sake of public welfare and safety," he said in a press conference posted on the police Facebook page yesterday.
